March 23-26, 2010 Spring Break at Nana & Papa's

The kids stayed with us while Jenni and Chris flew to Texas for a little business trip getaway. While Mom and Dad were away, Nana and the kids did play. We had fish , turtles and butterflies for breakfast. It was a great start for a fun day.

Eliza wanted this picture taken so her Mom could see how cute her hair looked.
Let the crafting begin! We first made Easter chickies. Gotta get that tissue paper all crinkled up....
then glue the paper to the styrofoam ball...
glue on the eyes, make some feet and a beak, and of course the girls added a few cute accessories.
Five cute little chickies made by three cute little kiddies!

Fun times with the kids

Feb 13-16. The kids stayed with us while Rhett & Julie went on an anniversary getaway. We had a great time. Here are a few of the fun things we did.

Nana had a dog (Spencer) and cat (Addie) in training for the judged annual obstacle course show at the state fair. Here is Ruff and Sugar getting ready for the show. By the way, they took 1st place and won blue ribbons!

Jacob and Papa had a game of chess.
For Valentines Day, we made heart shaped ice cream sandwiches. As you can see no one like them at all!

A secret admirer rang the doorbell and left a few valentines on the doorstep.
A little dancing in the kitchen.

We had a great time building castles. Jacob and Spencer had some great ideas and constructed a castle fit for a king, and a few knights, and a few guards, and a couple of poor guys held captive in the dungeon.

Addie and Nana built a princess castle that was just the right size for her 3 little princess dogs.

And of course we had to have our star wars meal of Tie-Fighter Ties, and Yoda Soda. Yummy it so was. May the force be with you!

Alayna's Annual Brrrrthday Party

On a cold February night the family gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of my 28th birthday. Another year with no snow but it wasn't raining and it was cold enough that it was truly a brrrrthday party. Following are a few pictures of the festivities.

You can't see it very well but the brrrrthday cake was made out of ice cubes with tea light candles. Lovely, and very easy for the brrrrthday girl to make. Just needed something so we could sing happy brrrrthday and blow out the candles. We had smores for dessert.
Happy brrrthday to you, happy brrrrthday to you..........

New Years Day 2009

We made our annual bowling trip on New Years Day to South County Lanes in Payson. We all had a great time. Spencer had the high score on the kid lane. Oh and by the way, we went back home and ate some more...

New Years Eve 2009

The whole gang was here for New Years Rock'in Eve. We had our annual program put on by the grandkids. Rhett set up a crazy picture booth [more pictures to come later]. We danced and played games and ate...and ate...and ate! At the strike of midnight we went out onto the front porch and yelled and banged pans and lit sparklers. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
