The first picture is a Christmas tree. Yep, it has been commercialized in even a predominantly non-Christian country. The big mall where the tree sits in front, is a very large place. Lot's of shoes but no boots, Jen. The square in front of this mall is kind of like Times Square when it comes to New Years Rockin' Eve.

The next picture is at a restaurant which has Thai and Vietnam food. The selection on the table is all Vietnamese. It was good. The couple at the table is Rungrat [the finance person for Agel Thailand] and her husband, who spent the evening with me.

The last picture is another shrine much the same as described before.

Okay, I wasn't supposed to get a picture of Ronald. But this Ronald is out front of the McDonald's across from the hotel. The unique thing about him is what he has done with his hands. It is a common, very common greeting for people to greet each other with their hands in a prayer and bring their hands to their nose and back down and say solaki, a hello or welcome greeting.

The next picture up is a shrine on a street corner. Worshipper's would buy flowers and incense and bring them to this shrine and pray. The flowers and incense can be purchased from a lot of vendors before they get into the shrine area. There were even birds there for purchase. I didn't ask about them. They light the incense and place it in some pot of sand and pile the flowers at one of the platforms. Then they knell and pray in front of everyone.

The top picture is of a whole square block of shops, all of them about that close. There were so many of them. Clothes, watches, souveniers, trinkets, and more and more of the same. It reminded me of Tijuana. It didn't take long to everything offered there but I only saw a few of the shops.

It was fun to have Flat Stan with me taking a few pictures.

Bangkok 2

Here's a few more pictures. The one I thought was kind of funny was the towel at the side [both sides but I only pictured one] of the bed and some slippers which were big enough for my big toe.

Bangkok, Thailand

Well, I made it to Thailand. I originally thought it was a 14 hour flight. It was 18 hours. Arrived here at 6:30 am on Monday [3:30 pm on Sunday your time]. Here's a couple of pictures I've been able to shoot quickly [more to come, I hope].

The bed looks pretty comfy, won't get to try it until this evening. Some more coming.

Sundance Visit

We went to Sundance this morning on a wild hare and had breakfast at the Foundry Grill. Following our Sundance visit, we spent some time [most of the rest of the day] in Park City. It was an absolutely beautiful day.

Successful at the Columbia Outlet Store. I found a coat which sold normally for $260 for $80. I've got something now to wear when I'm out shoveling snow. The weatherman is predicting snow tomorrow, mostly in the mountains, but I'm ready if it hits here.

Just looking at the pictures, perhaps grecian formula may be in order.

Spooky Halloween Night...

We spent Halloween night at Rhett & Julie's. Lot's of spooks trailed in and out of their garage for portraits during the evening. We had dinner afterwards and then Nana went trick-or-treating with Julie and the kids. When they returned we all settled in for a movie together, Return of the Jedi. It was a great evening together.



Zoe went trick-or-treating as well.

Colorado Crafting Company

Got glue? Got glitter? Got scissors,construction paper, crayons, tape, feathers, googly eyes, puff balls, buttons, little sparkly thingys, paint brushes, hole punch, markers, glitter, pipe cleaners, ribbon, spray paint, crepe paper, stapler, string, fabric, paper bags, paper plates, popsicle sticks, butcher paper, oatmeal boxes, glitter, cereal boxes, yarn, toilet paper rolls, soup cans, felt, pumpkins, tree branch, black netting, rocks, and did I mention glitter? Two weeks, three, kids, one nana. Look what we made!
















Even now that we have finished crafting, an occasional black feather comes wafting through the air, and I have no idea what that sparkly stuff is on the chairs and on the floor. Got glitter?

Trunk or Treat

Saturday night was the ward Halloween party. Getting 3 little spooks ready to go kept Nana jumpin. So, were off to see the wizard. (I tell you what, I felt like I needed a wizard. "E, lets get your hair done, here lets put some sparkles on your cheeks, run and find your ruby red slippers, Oh, you need a basket for the dog?, I'll run downstairs and see if I can find one, you go find Toto, we need some blue ribbons for your pigtails, hold still while I put a little lipstick on you, what, you cant find any white socks? here, I'll help you go through your sock drawer, Okay, lets tie the bow on your dress, what?, you need a blanket to cover Toto? Okay you go look in your room while I find your trick or treat bucket. Oh, look how cute you look, come have your picture taken by your Halloween scene on your door. Got it! One kid down, two to go. Follow the yellow brick road.......



Late Friday night after the kids were read to, sang to, tucked in, re-tucked in and tucked in again, Nana made a tutu (not to be confused with Toto) for M's Bunny FooFoo costume. I guess you could say I made a FooFoo tutu. It turned out way cute and it bounced up and down as M hopped off to the party. Speaking of hopping, Nana was doing a little hopping jumping and leaping herself, time is going fast and we soon have to leave for the party. "Hurry M, find two elastics for your pigtails, lets put a little blush on your cheeks and nose so you look like a bunny, okay, where are your bunny ears, oh, cute, lets put on your tiara, perfect, run and get your wand, and put on your fuzzy slippers, oh, yes, you need a little lipstick too, man, its tricky getting the backs off of these little pink rhinestones, whoops, dropped that one on the floor, here, I'll get another one, okay, hold still and I'll put them on your cheeks. You look darling! Lets take your picture. Go get your trick or treat bucket. Oh, look at the time, we'd better go , I'll put T's monkey costume in a sack and put it on him after we eat dinner or he will sweat his guts out. Okay T, heres your trick or treat bucket, lets put your shoes on, get your jackets while I find the address to the church (thank goodness for Ben's GPS, we found the church, no problemo.)

The party is over, we have finished eating and trick or treating. T loved the idea that all he had to say was say"trick or treat" and people put candy in his bucket. He had a grand time. So sorry we dont have a picture of me, I went as a very tired, very old looking grandma. I didn't even have time to change my clothes and fix my hair . I guess if I would have had a black cape I could have gone as the wicked witch of the west. We're off to see the wizard........

Nana's Colorado Cuisine

While J and C were gone to Austin, TX we conjured up some spooky meals.

Mummy Pizza's and Eyeballs. They were a hit!


Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels. Nana and M went for seconds and E had already eaten them all. Go E!!

Yummy Mummies and a Pile of Bones. And so betwixt the four of us we licked the platter clean.

Lighting the 'Y'

Tuesday nite, Lane's band, Basic 5, played at the trailhead of the Y mountain trail to celebrate the lighting of the Y beginning BYU homecoming week.

It was a beautiful night overlooking Provo and BYU. The band sounded great! The event was well attended. Someone said they counted about 500 people coming down from the Y.
Cosmo made an appearance at the event and had to get a picture with Mom. Oh wait a minute, maybe it was the other way around. Go Cougars!
At the end of the event, the lead singer of the band posed for his closeup.

Fall Colors
