Apple box oven cookies
On Saturday [a couple of weekends ago], J, S, and A stayed with us while their Mom and Dad went to the BYU football game. Nana has wanted to try cooking in an oven she learned about at a preparedness fair. You're supposed to be able to cook bread in this oven, but we thought we would begin with something which doesn't take as long to cook. So, we whipped up a batch of M&M cookies. The kids did a great job putting the M&M's on the cookies, even though more of the M&M's went into their mouths than on the cookies. The following pictures show the apple box oven gang in action.

The cookies turned out great. They took a lot longer than we thought they would. But none were wasted. We ate them all! Nana still has a lot to learn before we are ready for apple box oven bread baking.

What an awesome project. I'm sorry I didn't get to try one from the box oven, but I had my share from the regular oven and the were delicious!
